Meet our New Tours Manager at BK Adventure Kayaking and Eco Tours
Finding the right person to lead your fledgling but quickly growing business is not easy. For months, BK Adventure sifted through applications while trying to find just the right manager for our Florida Bioluminescent Kayaking and Eco Tours company. We knew the right person would have to have a unique blend of skills that including kayaking, environmental studies, and excellent organization.
Introducing Ashley Konon – New England Native turned Florida Local
We are proud to introduce Ashley Konon as our new Tours Manager. Ashley is a Connecticut native and has a degree in Zoology from the University of Vermont at Burlington. She also has a Master Naturalist Certification in Coastal Systems from the University of Florida’s IFAS Extension. Ashley is an experienced kayak guide and boating enthusiast who now calls Cape Canaveral, Florida home. She loves taking people out of the water kayaking and telling them about Florida’s unique eco-systems. That is, when she is not in the office managing the daily hustle of Florida’s #1 Bioluminescence Tours company!
Managing a Tour Company takes Great Mental Agility and Positivity
In a company like BK Adventure that launches several tours per day, with sometimes hundreds of guests in different locations, managing all the variables takes swift thinking and a cool head. In her first week, Ashley faced “trial by water” as Florida saw unprecedented amounts of rain. The rain caused many tours to be canceled, rescheduled, or re-routed. Ashley had to not only make sure all our amazing guests were happy, but also had to ensure that a team of 25 guides knew how to quickly change plans when the weather just would not cooperate. She handled the challenging first week with grace, ease, and a smile on her face!

If you are coming our bioluminescence tour that departs from Kelly Park East (Merritt Island) this summer, you are likely to see Ashley out there running the show. In addition to managing our Titusville office, she is at Kelly Park from 7 – midnight most weekends launching hundreds of adventurers out into the Banana River with our guides. Be sure to say Hello!
