Bioluminescence Rafting Tour – Awesome for Family or Groups!
Join this bioluminescence tour at Parrish Park that is great for people of all ages and abilities. This is the only bioluminescent tour in Florida that is NOT in a kayak! In our 10-person paddle raft, you are guided to the glowing waters of Florida’s Bio Bay – the Indian River Lagoon. Being in the raft is great because you are still close enough to the water to touch it and see the fish streaking through the bioluminescent water, but the guide is steering the raft for you while the group helps to paddle. There is no learning curve on how to paddle. Just get out there and be ready to be amazed!
You will launch your boat into the night waters of the lagoon that is surrounded by small barrier islands. As you paddle around the islands take in the sites of bioluminescence, schools of fish, and other wildlife. On your way to our site, be sure to look at the building to the right which is going to be NASA’s VAB or Vehicle Assembly Building.
Best Time of Year for Bioluminescence in Florida:
Dinoflagellates (Glowing plankton): May – October
Bioluminescent Comb Jellies: November – April
(In October and April you can often see both comb jellies and plankton bioluminescence! Although one may be more prevalent than the other.)
BK Adventure cannot guarantee any wildlife on any tour; however, the tours we offer have a very high instance of observation for the indicated wildlife.
